HOW TO FIT CLIMAIR WIND DEFLECTORS

This is a general guide on how to fit ClimAir wind deflectors to front windows. Fitting instructions can vary depending on the vehicle so always follow the fitting instructions supplied with your specific wind deflectors.

IN-CHANNEL WIND DEFLECTORS

ClimAir wind deflectors fit into the window channel and sit between the glass and the window seal. They are manufactured to fit the specific vehicle make and model.

PREFITTING INSTRUCTIONS

HANDLING

Take extra care when removing the wind deflectors from the box and when fitting as some edges and corners can be sharp.

FITTING IN COLD WEATHER

Wind deflectors can become brittle when cold. If fitting in cold weather conditions, ensure the deflectors have been stored at room temperature and only take one outside at a time to fit, leave the rest indoors in the warmth until you are ready to fit them.

Fitting Instructions

IMPORTANT – DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP
Lubricate the milled edge of the wind deflector. Run a bead of washing up liquid along the milled edge on both sides, the full length of the deflectors. Do NOT use any oil based products or WD40.

1) Open the window completely.

2) This part is critical to the correct fitment of in-channel wind deflectors. Not following this section correctly is the most common mistake made and can result in the deflectors being damaged.

Fitting Wind Deflectors correctly

2a) At the front of the window frame, by the door mirror, rest the bottom edge of the wind deflector ON TOP of the hard rubber window trim.

2b) DO NOT place the deflector INSIDE the door opening or on the soft part of the rubber as the deflector will not stay in place, the window will not close and the deflector may get damaged.

3) Push the other end of the deflector into the window channel. You may need to gently bend the deflector. Make sure the deflector is not too cold before bending it.

4-5) Starting from the door mirror end, use both hands to ease the milled edge of the deflector into the rest of the window channel.

6) Close the window gradually in several small steps by pressing the electric window button
(DO NOT use auto-close or one touch close).
You may need to gently pull the deflector away from the window with your hand to help the window to close completely.
Open the window again and repeat this procedure at least five times.

7) Slowly close the window completely and KEEP THE WINDOW CLOSED FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS. This will allow the wind deflector to be pressed into the rubber window seal by the permanent pressure of the glass.

After being closed for 24 hours, the electric windows will function correctly.

AUTO-CLOSE FUNCTION

Before proceeding, please ensure the wind deflector is installed correctly.

To reprogram the auto-close or one-touch window function in your vehicle.

  1. Unlock the vehicle door (this is necessary to clear the fault memory).
  2. Turn on the ignition, DO NOT start the engine.
  3. Open the window fully.
  4. Close the window in small steps, raising it cm by cm (the anti-trap protection is inactive during this).
  5. When the window is completely closed (fully up), hold the button in the “WINDOW UP” position for about 45 seconds.

Now you have reprogrammed your window and it should function as usual. If this does not yield the desired results, please lock the vehicle again and restart from step 1.
